Leather wall-coverings, parforce hunting and
the largest deer antlers in the world – Moritzburg Castle

Moritzburg hunting lodge beyond the gates of Dresden is a magnificent ensemble of baroque castle complex and landscape park. The enormous construction is symptomatic for the self-esteem of the Elector August the Strong as well as for his tendency to celebrate proliferating festivals. The interior of the castle, particularly the most important collection of leather wall-coverings in the world, has itself much of the splendour of the 18th century.
