Dr. Alexander Klein was born in Düsseldorf in 1959, and grew up in Mainz. Following his studies, he accepted a job at the Deutsches Museum in Munich, before moving to Dresden with his family in 1995. Through his work at the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum, he discovered a new affinity for the tourism branch and developed this as a further career avenue, alongside his continuing activities as an exhibition planner and author. Piano music, sailing and Arab cuisine are his leisure-time passions.

Qualifications:

• University studies in history, German, philo-sophy and culture management
• Chamber of commerce (IHK) / certificate for tour guides / Guide accreditation for the New Green Vault, the Old Masters Picture Gallery and the Semper Opera House
• Fluent command of English and French, basic knowledge of Italian and Arabic
